About the East Bluff Community Center
The East Bluff Community Center (EBCC) is a not-for-profit established in 2013 and headquartered at 512 E. Kansas Street in Peoria, Illinois. EBCC aims to provide services and resources to residents of the East Bluff neighborhood of Peoria, one of the lowest income areas of the city. These programs are offered by various organizations and agencies housed under EBCC’s roof, including Boys and Girls Club; Summer Youth Basketball; Peoria Opportunities; and Turning Point.
EBCC also provides a food pantry and community garden that serves over 160 families in the East Bluff area each month. EBCC’s headquarters contains a gymnasium that is rented out to area families and groups for a modest fee to provide affordable event space for weddings, reunions, civic gatherings, and other neighborhood events. The gymnasium has also been used as a polling place in the community.
EBCC estimates that approximately 85% of its participants come from low-income backgrounds. Approximately 50% of participants receive EBCC’s services at no or reduced cost. EBCC provides services to over 5,000 participants each year. Additionally, EBCC estimates that over 31,000 visits per year take place at its facility for services or resources. These visits occur through EBCC or one of its partner agencies at 512 E. Kansas Street
